Progress on the Junipero Serra Playground and Clubhouse project is very good.  The art tile project installation is complete as is the exterior stucco work. During the next few weeks the Contractor will be installing the glass, finishing the interior sheetrock, doing some exterior grading and subgrade work, and installing the play equipment which is already on-site. After that the safety surfacing will be installed and the Contractor will continue with interior finish work within the clubhouse (lights, fixtures, cabinets & countertops, flooring, tile, paint, etc.). Exterior painting may begin March 10th, weather permitting.

The target completion date was originally the end of May but we have added some additional work to make the eastern section of ramp down to the ballfield ADA accessible so that work may add about two weeks to the schedule (6/14). Just to recap -  the tennis and basketball courts will be resurfaced and the chain link fencing mesh surrounding it will be replaced with new black vinyl clad mesh as part of the renovations and RPD staff will be doing some work on the ballfield so that the whole park is freshened up prior to the opening of the playground and clubhouse.
