This invitation comes to us from the Parkmerced Management Team. They are looking to make changes to their properties which border Lakeside on 19th Avenue down to UCSF. If you are interested in getting involved here is the invitation sent to us:

COME TO OUR JANUARY 29TH COMMUNITY MEETING!

What:

An interactive design workshop featuring breakout sessions and one-on-one discussions with planners and transportation experts. Topics of discussion will include sustainable transportation features including improvements to traffic and access to transit; adding much needed retail and services; reconfiguring open space to better serve the community; and new rental and for-sale housing. Provide your input to help further refine the plans. Light dinner to be provided.

If you are unable to attend on January 29, then join us Monday, January 28 from 6:00 to 8:30 pm at 77 Cambon in Parkmerced. The same information will be provided at each meeting.

Parkmerced Vision for the Future

Beginning January 28, 2008 and continuing over the next few months, we will host a series of interactive design workshops to get your input on specific elements of the long-range plan for Parkmerced. Our goal is to work with you to further refine our plan to transform Parkmerced into a vibrant, sustainable and livable community.

Over the past year, we've met with our residents, neighbors, and local organizations to better understand the community's needs, interests and concerns. Your involvement has helped us refine our long-range vision into a concept plan that includes the following:
• Providing a range of sustainable transportation options
• Traffic improvements
• State-of-the- art housing
• Neighborhood serving amenities
• Retail and office uses
• Usable green space

The design workshops will help further refine key elements of our plan, and we look forward to your continued involvement.

Next Steps

Future workshops in February and March will focus on further refining the plan elements discussed at the January meetings. February workshops are tentatively scheduled for Thursday, February 21st and Saturday, February 23rd.
